Town options in Morris, Union and Essex counties

North Arlington, NJ

I work in NYC (Midtown) and my wife works in Morristown. We are looking for houses in Morris/Union/Essex counties which are within 20-25 min of Morristown.

I would prefer to take the bus to Port Authority rather than train, hence, I am not considering towns along the train line like Summit/Chatham/Morristown etc at the moment.

Can someone help us pick towns, which has a good bus frequency to NYC during rush-hour and can hopefully keep my commute time within 1 hour?

Hi DG, excellent question! Your daily commute is of utmost importance when choosing a new area to live. But, before I can recommend towns, there are 2 more important questions: 1) Do you have children? If so, what are your requirements are in terms of schools? 2) What kind of atmosphere do you want to live near...urban? nature? a place with both? lakes? etc. Let me know & we'll work from there!
Best,
Tara

Long Hill Township( made up of Millington, Stirling and Gillette) might fit your bill. There are buses along Valley Road for NYC as well as three train stops in town. The prices are not as high as Summit and Chatham. Contact me with more information on what you are looking for and we can see if this town would fit.
