Suburban Transit has a bus stop located at the corner of Rt 27 and South Middlebush Rd which is about a 10 minute walk from the Nob Hill subdivision. You can catch an express bus around 7am which typically gets you to the Port Authority by 8:15am (longer if there is traffic/accidents on the NJ Turnpike or Lincoln Tunnel) Buses run about every 15 min during rush hour, but most NYC commuters (such as myself) prefer taking the 6:45am or 7am express bus to the Port Authority since it doesn't stop in East Brunswick as the others do. I've taken the train from New Brunswick as well, but noticed it takes the same amount of time as the bus, so I've opted for the bus since I always get a seat and don't need to worry about parking at the train station (since the bus stop is walking distance) In the evenings, Suburban runs express buses from the Port Authority back to Franklin Park beginning at 4:55pm every 15-20 min until 6:35pm (before and after are all local buses to Franklin Park which I would def stay away from) The commute longer in the evenings since there are no dedicated lanes for buses in the Lincoln Tunnel as there are in the morning. If I catch a 5:35pm bus, I'm typically back home by a little after 7pm. You can purchase a monthly pass for around $300 or weekly 10-trips for about $95. Being a native of Queens, it took a little while to get used to the whole bus ride back and forth to NJ, but its not that bad now. Hope this helped, good luck!

Suburban transit runs a line down rt 27 through the heart of Franklin Park. You can also go to Jersey Ave or New Brunswick station to take the train. The train is the main line that has N transit and Amtrak so it is a fast and reliable line.

It would appear that you would use the red line on the NJ Transit at Jersey Ave. to get back and forth to NY. But, you can call the NJ Transit at (973) 275-5555 or go to the web site https://www.njtransit.com/sf/sf_servlet.srv?hdnPageAction=MainTo
for more information.
