Of course you can live on Marco without a boat. There are plenty of properties that are not on a canal. There are also a lot of homes on a canal that do not have a dock or do not have a boat. There are several marinas that have boat rentals, should you want to go fishing or just out for the day on the water. You have heard the old saying for a boater .. "the best day was buying the boat, the next best day was selling it". There is always something to do on Marco. If you would like more information about our paradise, please let us know. We would be glad to help.

Yes. Just because it is an island, doesn't mean you have to own a boat to get to the island. The Marco or Goodland bridges take care of transit to and from the island.

Now if you fish or want to take advantage of the 10,000 islands, then yes you might want a boat.

Go out on the neighbor's boat? If you are considering buying a place there and you don't like boating, what are you going to do there? It is an island with one road in and out. It offers tourist shopping, restaurants, some tennis, a bit of golf, and nice beaches. What will you have in common with the other folks there? Want to go fishing? You won't have the activities that fill your days up north...it's a clean slate. How do you fill it up? When you figure that out you will find the right lifestyle for you and answer your own question. It is not about you buying a place, it is about buying the right place for you.

Good luck,

Bill

Well it looks like you got your answer! I was there twice last week and again over the weekend. I have a really nice condo that is across the street from the beach, down the street from Joey's Pizza and various other points of interest. Feel free to check it out here.

You certainly don't need to own a boat, but you can charter one if you like. The island is connected to the mainland by a bridge, and the streets take you all through the island including the beaches.
It's a gorgeous island with a variety of types of properties.
I would love to assist you if you are contemplating a home there.
