Clients who are making a housing decision consider traffic as just one of many other factors. Traffic usually less important than proximity to employment, school rankings, how close they are to family and friends, shopping, recreation (Lake, Trails, Equestrian etc.), entertainment, etc. Unless there is an on-call requirement for work, traffic is rarely the deciding factor for most people. In a general sense, South Charlotte/Ballantyne, Lake Norman and North Union county areas seem to have fairly equal appeal. Also, NC-16 is opening up more options north of Charlotte. NCDOT maintains traffic count maps for the Charlotte region. http://www.ncdot.gov/travel/statemapping/trafficvolumemaps . These have accurate actual traffic information that can also be compared on a year-by-year basis to determine change. If appreciate an answer, please give thumbs up.
