How long is the commute during rush hour from San Francisco to Novato? I would need to be in Novato by 9am and would return from Novato to SF at 5pm.

From the GG bridge to Novato give yourself 25 minutes maybe 30 to be be on the safe side,
FIRST ANSWER
I live in the Marina. I used to be able to do it 30 minutes door-to-door when I commuted up to Novato (last exit - Atherton). Sometimes ride back would take 10~15 minutes longer due to congestion in San Rafael. My work hours were 9 to 5.
