If you are in Inwood the high school would be Eisenhower http://www.aldine.k12.tx.us/cms/rise/main.cfm?siteID=123
which is part of the Aldine school system and has very high rating and has recently won several national awards in education. Check to see if this house is in the Aldine district and if not you may want to look for something in Inwood Forest, Inwood Pines or Inwood North subdivisions. You may pay a little more but you'll get more as well.
This home was rented out yesterday. As pointed out by Brandon, please visit the websites he suggested. You can also check http://www.crimereport.com to find out what is going on in a given neighborhood. As realtors we are not permitted to give an opinion about the safety or otherwise of an area.
When are you planning to move? Are you looking for a specific neighborhood based on your job location?
If you have any questions, the best way to reach me is by email or phone as stated below.
As an Real Estate Agent, I can not comment on whether an area is "safe" or not, none of us can. However I can point you in the right direction to get that information. Here is the url for the City of Houston Police Beat Crime stats ... http://www.houstontx.gov/police/cs/beatpages/beat_stats.htm and this link is for a website called Mylocalcrime.com ... http://www.mylocalcrime.com/#77040. Compare and make your own determinations. The nearest elementary school is right outside the subdivision the home is in. The remainder of the schools are all within a close distance (by Houston standards). If you have any other question give me a call or email me...
Thank you for your time,
