Not in terms of distance..but It could take you close to an hour because of morning traffic.

When you Google Map it, Manhattan Beach is 18 miles from Century City. We used to live there and it would take me 40-50 min in the morning to drive to Westwood, which is right next to Century City. You have to do the commute by 8am, otherwise, you will be stuck in traffic on the 405 for over an hour.

27 miles. It can take 40 minutes and up to 2 hours. The 405 is a bear no matter the day or time.

Roger is right.. there really isn't any good public transportation.. so most people drive.. finding someone to carpool with is easier said then done

Sadly, everybody drives. There isn't really any good public transportation between the beach towns and Los Angeles proper, other than the metro rail in Long Beach, and even that is pretty sketchy and SLOW--even slower than driving yourself on the 405 freeway.

Interesting. What is the most common transportation method used? Do most people drive their own vehicles or use public transportation?

BEST ANSWER
Manhattan Beach owes much of its appeal to a central location. It is close to LAX and about 20-30 minutes from Century City depending on traffic. It is about 30-40 minutes from Downtown LA.. again much depends on traffic.
