Hi Rebecca,
Did the school have a plan of action for this type of transportation issue? Do you know any of the other parents that have their children going there as well?
You might also contact whatever nonprofit organization or organizations advocate for children with your child's issue. That is, for instance, if your child has autism, there are groups who advocate for children (or parents of children) with autism. Similarly, if your child has cerebral palsy, or ADHD, or any of the conditions that have led to your child being qualified for special ed, there's going to be one or more groups. You may already be a member of one. (If not, you probably should be, but that's a different subject.) Anyhow, they'll have had parents in the Altanta area who've faced the same problems you have, and if there's a solution, they'll probably know it.
Sometimes, your family physician (or a specialist treating your child) will also be able to provide some leads.
Hope that helps.
Have you thought about contacting that school office I am assured they have the solutions for you.

Try the Citizen Advocacy office. Just delete the spaces and cut and paste this url: http ://citizenadvocacyatlantadekalb. org/default.aspx
They help connect people to different community programs and services.
Hope this helps!

Do you work with any kind of couselor or social worker with your child? Maybe they could give you some resources. The county office may have someone who could help you.
