I have done this commute myself several times and also have a client that sometimes commutes to Framingham. It depends on what time of day. During rush hour times of 7-9am and 4-6pm it could take anywhere from one hour to one hour and forty-five minutes. The hard thing it is hard to anticipate this as the traffic is different daily. Mid day, it should take no longer than one to one hour and fifteen minutes. The most direct and fastest route, I believe, is Rt 95 (Rt 123) to the Mass Pike.
I think the answers are true. You can also go straight down 495 although during commuter times that would be hard.
If I can be of assistance please let me know.
It will be quite a commute if you're travelling between 7-9am.
Having recently travelled from Newburyport to Waltham for business and leaving by 7am at the latest, the best commuting time was an hour and twenty minutes to the Trapelo Rd exit!
Off commuting hours from Exit 57/I95 Newburyport to MA Pike is about 50 min, then out to Framingham would be 15-20min depending on your Framingham destination.
