I have lived in Frederick County (near Brunswick, the largest MARC stop on the Brunswick Line) for 7 years and my husband has commuted to Capitol Hill/Union Station the whole time on MARC. From Brunswick to Union Station is a 90 minute ride. My husband also drives in to the Hill at least once a week, on Tuesdays, and in rush hour traffic it's about a 90-120 minute commute. (20 minutes of that is actually just getting to the city of Frederick from our house near Brunswick). The best driving route to the Nats stadium area is down I-270, across the Legion Bridge to the GW Parkway, then across the 14th St bridge. That's the route my husband and I take to the Hill. There are commuter buses that go all the way into DC from out here, but they don't have as many timing options as MARC does.
Also, Frederick is growing by leaps and bounds. In the 2010 census, the state of MD grew by 9%. Frederick County grew by 25%!! There are a lot of people moving to Frederick from the metro DC area because it's a much easier life out here (that's why WE did it!). I'm a Realtor licensed in MD, DC and VA and I still do a lot of work in DC (I worked on the Hill myself when we first moved out here) and we have never regretted the move. Plus, when we want to go somewhere on the weekends, no traffic!
FYI: Cost of living out here is a lot better too. Daycare alone was worth the move.
You can check out routes for the train station at the link below:
I hope this helps. If I can be of any further assistance please let me know.

Step 1: Download a map of the D.C Metro and verify the dates/times to make sure it works with your schedule
Step 2: Drive to the Shady Grove train station (Red Line) Take it to Union Station and then take the (Light Blue Line) all the way. The last stop is the Navy Yard and you can walk to the Stadium from there. It is only a few blocks.
Other Option: Most of us have a navigation tool on our smart phone. You can utilize it for public transportation by clicking on the train icon. I use it all the time when traveling to NYC; works great.
This link shows the cost and time elapsed to get to the stadium from the Shady Grove station.
It takes about an hour total without rush hour demand. It you are traveling during off hours that may be less. Only you can determine if you believe it to be a realistic commute.
There may be other locations closer to the Metro that you would want to consider as well.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
The MARC train runs from Downtown Frederick but is not all that frequent. You can check out the routes and schedules on the following website.
It would also depend on where you were thinking of living. Anything close to 270 would help to reduce commuter time should you be thinking of driving.
Feel free to give me a call if you would like to discuss this and I would be happy to help in any way that I can. 301 865-9675.
