Super easy...couple of back ways right into downtown or west Salem. Pdx is very easy also. Thru Newberg, etc. Love Mac. Moved here from Bend. Super easy to get anywhere. 50 min to coast, 50 min to Portland, and 4o to 50 min to Salem.

Having said all of that the commute will be 45 minutes to an hour and a half to downtown PDX and a little less to Beaverton and probably 45 minute to and Hour to Salem from McMinnville. McMinnville is a great town and so are Dundee, Newberg, Tigard, and Sherwood but the reality is that there are so many traffic lights on hwy 99 and with the bottle necks that occur most days...the question you ask is a fairly onerous one.

The real question is why you are not looking closer to these places that McMinnville?? Is there a super opportunity or draw there??

Just trying to help out.

If you take the back way into Salem via the Ferry, it is a beautiful country commute. I've never encountered a traffic problem except for maybe the occational tractor in the way.

The commute to Portland is not bad, it's the commute back to McMinnville from Portland (at traffic time) that has the possibility of a slow down through Dundee BUT.... there are back roads and ways around Dundee that one can take to insure you don't get involved in the backup. Even when you go through there at traffic time, it only takes 10 minutes or so and you are out of it.
