nihaynes, While I know this is an older question, for those who have landed here, simply look at LAPD Crime Maps at http://www.crimemapping.com/map.aspx?aid=3db8cf99-a73b-46d2-b218-bd24cf491577 for any area in the City of L.A. Fyi, I've lived in Toluca Lake for quite some time and while like many areas of the City, it is for the most part safe but understand, crime can happen anywhere and at anytime. Some of the so-called more "upscale" neighborhood endure certain types of property crime as they act like a carrot on a stick for burglars, etc. Again, crime can happen even in the best neighborhoods. If you're not sure what steps to take to be vigilant, simply stop by your local LAPD station - they will be more than happy to provide safety recommendations.

That information does need to be disclosed by the seller if it's within a 3 year period of the sale, however I would recommend calling the Police Department and asking for the senior lead officer for the area to ask about neighborhood crime information.
Hopes this helps, feel free to call me at 818-588-6563 if you have any other questions about this area.... more
