Im presently doing trash outs for a sub contractor, so Im really down the line on the money,I only get 200.00 to do everything, thats ,trash out, maid service, mowing and edging. Im very good at what I do and fast, they dont pay any exspenses,I pay all fees ,gas, dump, cleaning supplies. so what I want to do is cut out the middle man,and work for a vendo or company ,as a contractor. My question is in florida, how much insurance do I need, and what kind of lic. the problem I have in my countie is they dont have these kind of lic. Ive worked as a handyman for 20 years, and they dont have a handymans lic. so when someone asks for a lic. I tell them theres none required, and I lose the job. If you can help me ,please respond,or if you have any work ,Im fast and reliable, can do most anything on homes. thanks roy ...ron_shmn@yahoo.com

Most that do it Either set up a LLC or S corp for the business. Then the banks want you to have libility insurance so if someone gets hurt. normally 1,000 a yr or more depends on you and insurance company. Also you will need to have strong contacts with banks and companies to get the bids and jobs. You will not be able to do both. It takes someone on computer and phone and making contacts and working bids sending pics and so far. doesnt give you much time to do the clean out. I had a friend doing about 25 to 40 a week all over Florida it isnt easy. Also you dont get paid right away you have to wait atleast 30 to 60 days for pay outs. I would take the job you have and be glad you have work. If you do any larger work without being a contractor in florida you might find yourself in jail. Be carefull.
