WHY DO TIMESHARES SHOW UP UNDER RESALE SEARCH FIELD??.. WHY DON THEY HAVE THEIR OWN "TIMESHARE" FIELDS..!?

ITS A WASTE OF TIME TO SORT THROW HUNDREDS OF ADDS WITH LOW PRICS JUST TO FIND OUT YOU ARE NOT ACTUALLY BUYING THE PROPRTY, ITS NOT A FOR SALE OR FORECLOSURE ADD, ITS A TIMESHARE AND IT SHOULD HAVE ITS OWN CATEGORY BECAUSE ITS TAKING ALL THE GOOD FEATURES OF THE SITE AUTOMATED SEARCH SYSTEM TO WASTE GIVING US WRONG PRICELISTS.

As others explained, because a timeshare is deeded, it's real property and therefore should be included. There are two sure-fire ways to exclude them:
1. place a lower limit on your search price as someone suggested (anything below $20k in Virginia Beach is either a time-share or a shack that you couldn't live in even if you wanted to.)
2. find an agent who knows how to search the MLS for you. As agents, we have better search tools, we have access to the REAL database (consumer search sites are mere copies of the database and usually don't include all the data fields in our primary database).
I'm sure you're good at your job and hope you enjoy doing whatever you do. As a professional Realtor, I am very good at my job and I love it. I can grab that database by the ankles and swing it around until your new house comes flinging out. If you don't want timeshares, I'll exclude them from the result set I present to you.

Hi Wastingmytime,

I'm very sorry that you are encountering this problem. Timeshare listings should not be included in our search results, but they do slip through from time to time if they aren't accurately labeled when they are sent to us. The best way to alert us about these listings is to use the 'Report error' link that you'll find in the box on the right side of each listing page. Once we receive an error report, we will investigate the issue and, in cases like this, remove the listing from our site.

I hope this is helpful. If you have any further questions or concerns, please let us know.

Best Wishes,

I agree with Wendy, that is a question to send to Trulia people, if you are intent on using Trulia for your on-line home search.
Trulia can take from 24-48 hours to answer a question...
I THINK you can avoid this by being more selective about your price range. If you are searching Virginia Beach and set your lower threshold to no less than $75,000 you should not have ANY simple fee or townhouses in your search show up. Most recently, the lowest priced townhouse I saw was a foreclosure in the $80,000 range and that price is VERY rare for Virginia Beach.

Because they have deeds. They are considered real property too.

That sounds like a tech question for the Trulia people ... our local MLS has an identifying category for timeshares so there is not so much confusion. I believe they are under "resale" because they are being "resold" meaning it is not the first time they are being sold. Ask your REALTOR to get you connected
to the local MLS so you will only get those listings you really want. If you need help, ask.
