I'm looking for houses sold in my area to help determine what my home is worth. How can I find out how much?

homes have sold for that are compariable to mine? I want to refinance, but my loan officer told me the value of my house has gone down 10K since last year because of forclosures in the area. It was recommended that I watch the market for homes sold in my price range, I can't seem to find that info?

The best way is to ask a local realtor for sold comps as a favor but make sure you tell the realtor it is becos you want to refinance and not sell...Or have an appraisal done. Good luck.

All sales data for homes is recorded at your county records office. The MLS also offers similar information. A real estate agent could always help you with that. But the easiest site to help you would be zillow.com which feeds off of the public records database. Don't pay attention to the zestimates, just look at the sold records. Hope that helps.
