Which "0174" did you use? If you used the numbers at the top of the keyboard, it won't work. Make sure your "Num Lock" is on for the number keys on the right of the keyboard. Hold down the Alt key, type 0174 on the number keypad. ®

Voilá.

I guess I should have tried this in my last answer to see if it worked first. Alt 0174 didn't do anything. Is there another step missing? I typed REALTOR "alt0174" & got nothing.

Thank you everyone! I knew I had ran across the command in Word, but I was trying to figure out how to do it in Trulia yesterday without copy/paste out of word.

It's time to get ready for that open house this afternoon!

Alicia it's all keyboard strokes. Press and hold "alt" then hit 0174 you will get ®. Sometimes people make things to hard!

I'll try giving you an answer for Internet Explorer --
Go to start button on bottom left and click it.
Click on ALL PROGRAMS
Cick on ACCESSORIES
Click on SYSTEM TOOLS
Click on CHARACTER MAP
Find the right font (Arial for Trulia)
Click on the ®, then SELECT, then COPY
Put the cursor in the text where you want to insert it and click Control=V (paste)
There you go.
You can even insert a shortcut to the Character Map in your start menu programs. But this should work.

When you're in Word, you can also INSERT SYMBOL, SPECIAL CHARACTERS tab, choose the ®, and INSERT.

Where do you want to insert it? I know how to do it in Word but it's too complicated to explain here. So, why don't you just Google or Bing your question.
