Stay away from the East side of town. Over by Garza Park there is a fair amount of gang and other crime. The West side of Town in the newer stuff is pretty safe and quiet. On a side note, the local Sheriff is cracking down on the crime element on the East side of town. As for property damage or tagging, there is very little of that around here.... more
Your question is vague. Should you have questions about Ripon, CA, please feel free to contact me. I find the area to be one of the more desirable areas in the Central Valley. As a previous resident I am also familiar with the City and Ripon's housing.... more
When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.

I live in Patterson the neighborhood looks nice.... We took the kids to the close park. Fairly new construction houses a lot of parks here. My kids were playing in the bushes hiding and jumping out. When my six year old son pulled out a hand gun wrapped in a shirt. So I we haven't been to a park here since. There are a lot of ADT signs more every day. The good thing is Patterson still responds to unconfirmed alarms some cities do not, and they encourage you to get one. The lower house price means lower class unfortunately. Quite a few loud parties on weekends, sheriff responds to those too. Higher food prices higher gas prices. I commute to Turlock to shop once a week. Oh and here you can watch cockroaches cross the street at stop signs. No I am not kidding they are outside and I did find one once directly under the air duct in the kids' room. I spray outside around the house frequently and have a shovel handy. I taped the vent above my bed closed so I could sleep at night, really I did. Oh so you know taxes are much higher here than Manteca, Newman, and just about everywhere else I checked. I don't think crime is worse than anywhere else but unemployment is around 20% and society is just more uncivilized in general so there you go.... more
Sorry it took a while for some one to answer this question. Yes, Riverbank is a good neighborhood, in parts. The part that Wainwright and Turpin is known as the Crossroads. The Croosroads has the newest shopping center with Home Depot and Target and a few other places. The only issues with Riverbank are near downtown, which they are trying to clean up, and PG & E. Riverbank does not have MID for electric so bills there are a little bit higher. In general crime is relatively low in the area.... more
