That's either the original first trust lender, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, or another bank or financial institution.
You can search online in two ways: with the County public records on-line at the County Web site, or with specialized software. The only advantage to the latter is that they will be more up to date that the public on line records, which are not updated that frequently. There are on-line services that do this for a fee of around $70.00.

The advantage to you of doing so is problematic, since, once the properties pass into the hands of the first trust holder, what then happens is governed not only by law but also by regulation and lender procedures.
