The property at 17 W. Laurel is a short sale and is now under contract. If you were considering it a good home for a future family did you notice that it is situated on a very busy corner with a right hand turn lane that virtually surrounds the property? Maybe this wasn't a good choice for you after all. The property has been for sale for a long time and needed a lot of work.
Being a first time home buyer can be overwhelming. Buying a home can feel like a full time job for awhile. Buying a short sale home should be considered a loooong sale as it can take many months and the banks can reject the offer after you have waited many months for a response. It can be an extremely frustrating process. Do yourself a favor and only work with an experienced short sale agent if that is the course you intend to take.
Sometimes if a property is part of an estate settlement you can get an equally good buy without the hassle of a short sale. Good Luck to you in your efforts!

There are definitely homes in Somers Point that do not require flood insurance. I went to settlement on one on Broadway Avenue last month and no flood insurance was required. Cathy Laltrello, Broker Associate, Re/Max Atlantic 609-804-0280... more
Definitely Harbour Cove area as the kids can walk to bay beach, get bus to OC on Shore Rd (if you let them). Sunset Marina is more remotely located and they will be afteryou every second to take them everywhere! Are you sure you want a condo? A great 4 bedroom 3 bath is coming on the market early next week - 2400 sq ft, fabulous condition and location...... more
Somers Point is a great place to live! It is family friendly and has good schools. It is much more reasonably priced than anything in Ocean City yet is just a short trip over the bridge to the beach and boardwalk. It also has great shopping! If you need help finding a place, I would be happy to help you! Check out my website, and you can search the MLS feed, search for properties and be notified when something that matches your search criteria is added to the MLS.... more
Somers Point and Linwood are separate school districts. Each sends their students to their own elementary and middle schools but they both attend the same high school Mainland Regional.
Real estate prices are a bit higher in Linwood than in neighboring Somers Point but good values can be found in both towns. I would be happy to help you find a home in either town!
Somers Point is a great little town! Lots of good shopping and close to Ocean City. You can get more house for your money and a yard too in Somers Point compared to Ocean City. However, remember if you are planning on using the beach you will have to make the trip across the bridge. Not a bad one if you time your visit so it doesn't conflict with the rental check in times for Saturday 2 to 3 pm. I'd be happy to help you find a great deal on a home in Somers Point.
Somers Point is a great place for year round living! It provides a quiet respite from the craziness that often characterizes the beach towns in the summer season but gives you the advantage of just being across the bridge from all the fun! It's about ten miles to the casinos and night life of Atlantic City, and just across the bridge to the boardwalk, beach and rides of Ocean City! It is a short 15 min drive to the great restaurants of Margate and Ventnor. Somers Point has great shopping year round. Unlike Cape May there is a bustling year round population with lots of things to do. There is a large public park right on the Bay that gives beautiful views of the sunset! If golf is your passion they have the Great Bay Course! I would love to have the opportunity to help you find your perfect retirement home! You should have the house inspected prior to purchasing and see if there is a sellers' disclosure on file. That will describe the property as the sellers' know it and might reveal if they have any knowledge of asbestos.
Good places to look are at the siding and the pipes in the basement. Both are easy to remediate.... more
That is actual on the border of SP and Linwood It may be over priced it is the type home that is looking for a Special Buyer it is unique It is not a cookie cutter house so it has special features it is also a 12 room home which most three bedrooms would around 7-9 rooms. It has a lot of other features that most houses in SP New homes with charm.
A homes real value is not dictated buy the price a Seller wants but What the one buyer is willing to pay. This becomes the test of price and time. It someone wants to have home with privacy and uniqueness that this is price in range there are other homes with less for more money.
The test is when and offer is made based on the sold and the personal choice of a home like this one and not a rancher.
I looked over the competition on the market and it does have more then some others to offer it has taken the middle of the road in pricing not the lowest NOT THE HIGHEST IN IT CLASS
Hope this answers you r question as a buyers broker this is the type house that you would want a person who like the victorian style home. Not loke the others on the market

Matt's information is correct, I have worked with a buyer and a seller in that community and also was the rental agent for an owner who renter her unit. The units are lovely for second home owners, but are more difficult to live in year round. The views are spectacular from many of the buildings. Space is limited, the washer and dryer are not easy to access with a full house. The condo fees are on the upper end. Overall the units are really lovely, but not conducive to extended stays and it is against association rules to offer short term weekly rentals.... more
