Good question with a suprisingly simple answer. Successful investors need to buy property for a significant discount in order for the numbers to work ecconomically. An actual potential homeowner, like yourself, is actually in the drivers seat. The property is worth more to someone who intends to live in the home rather than an investor. I have worked with many investors whose complaint is exactly the oposite of yours.
In this market you need to work with an aggressive agent and jump on the good deals immediately. That way you can beat the investors to the punch. Let me know if you have any questions.
