I recommend contacting the Boynton Beach Police Dept if you have questions about safety. Unfortunately there is crime everywhere, even Malibu, Palm Beach, and Beverly Hills.

Sorry I can't be more specific.

When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.

There's high crime to the east between I-95 and Federal Highway, and low crime to the west of I-95. The center of the city is Congress and Boynton Beach or Gateway Blvd. That's a very safe area, as well as heading west on Boynton Beach from Military Trail to Jog (and probably even farther west).

Fantastic info. To the point. Thanks.

The truth is Realtors are not allowed to comment on crime. It is considered as promoting one area over another based on demographics, which violates some of the equal housing opportunity laws.

However, you as a customer have all the rights to investigate.
You may contact the police and sheriff departments for that area and ask, they keep statistics on it.
You can also use free websites like http://www.Spotcrime.com , http://www.CrimeReports.com http://,www.CrimeMapping.com or http://www.mylocalcrime.com that collect such info....however for some of them we don't know how accurate they are or how frequent the data gets updated. I suggest you contact the local law enforcement agency in the specific area you are interested in. They will have all the statistics & will be able to address your concerns.

Trulia has very good crime information. Go up to the top click on Local Info, then community info and enter the city or neighborhood.
