Walkable Neighborhood for Necessities

Asked by Peacepup, Greenbelt, MD Thu Oct 9, 2008

I want to relocate to Little Rock, or somewhere in Arkansas, where I grew up. I am visually impaired and cannot drive. Is there a good neighborhood in Little Rock, or elsewhere in Arkansas, that is walkable -- i.e., amenable for people who don't drive, such as full-service grocery stores, pharmacies, shopping, post office, and necessities in a reasonable walking distance?

Sure there is. Depending on your price range there are a few. One that particularly comes to mind is the Colony West area. There is a grocery within walking distance, most likely a city bus that runs close to the grocery as well. There are other locations as well. An area like Maumelle may also be of interest to you. I hope this helps.
