I live and work in Venice, and I am a big beach bum, so let me give you all your options.
Venetia is a pretty, gated community located in a triangle bordered by US 41 on the north, Jacaranda Blvd on the West, and 776 to the South.
If you continue down 776, your first light will be Manasota Key Blvd - a couple miles down that road will take you to Manasota Key, and the beaches on the north sideof that island. So - less than 10 minutes.
If you take 41 into Venice, and go onto Venice Island at Center Road, you will catch the beaches on the south side of the Island, including the very popular restaurant, Sharkey's on the Beach. That would be more like 15 minutes.
Venice Beach is on the north side of Venice Island, so add another 5-10 minutes for that, depending on traffic.
Venetia is in a great location - close to shopping and restaurants - you could walk to many of them, they are less than a mile away.
I hope that helps.
