You won't be able to walk to town unless you do like to walk about seven miles or more. You are probably closer to walking to the town of Gardiner, which does not have a large grocery store on Main street but you have Hannafords nearby.
Did you know that there is something called walkscore.com? Just plug in the address and it will give you all the information you'll need.
If you want to be able to walk to a larger supermarket than I would suggest that you look at homes in the village of New Paltz where you have access to the NYC bus, restaurants, small clothing stores, Shoprite, Stop and Shoo, movie theatre, Starbucks, beauty salons, library and more.
If there is something specific that you are looking for you might want to call me as I have lived here for 25 years and probably know just about everything including the area that might flood after a heavy rain or a rapid melting of snow in March.
I'm open from 9AM to 8PM everyday at 845-255-0019.
Might as well get a second opinion before you make an expensive decision.
