While old Corte Madera doesn't really have a downtown, being really a residential community, there are a few strips of stores that line Tamalpais Ave., but the city is best known for having two large, upscale malls on opposite sides of highway 101, The Village and Corte Madera, and both have a wide varieties of stores, restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries. The Town Center also has a large grocery store and a number of smaller businesses one might expect in a 'town center.'
