Alethia, Other/Just Looking in New York, NY

Are there any doggie daycare/pet sitting facilities in the Charlotte area?

I have a male Rottweiler and we're planning on moving from NYC in 08, where there are many pet sitting/boarding/walking facilities.

Charlotte is extremely dog friendly. Just recently, Charmeck Dept of Parks & Rec turned the 4 dog parks around the city from paid facilities to free for everyone. The parks are located in the University area, Cornelius (which has a dog beach), off HWY 51 in South Charlotte and off of Monroe Road in South Charlotte. Additionally, there are many greenways for you to enjoy walking your Rotty and even a dog bar in NoDa http://(

There are also a lot of very good boarding, daycare, and walking services scattered around town and more opening weekly as the need here grows. Here in the south of town, my wife and I use Charlotte Kennels: I'd call them to get a referrence for a good sitter or walker.

Look forward to seeing you at the Dog Bar next spring

There's a really nice one in the Pineville area; my daughter took her golden there and she just loved it. There are also some not so nice ones - so it's important to check them out.

absolutely, my girlfriend works in one and is a certified trainer. They are all over the place and there are some with outstanding facilities. Some or most even have grooming/training available. depending on where you are going to relocate, try vip kennels, 704-289-1659 or email my and I can have my better half let you know all the detail

There are a couple of good ones in the Union County (Waxhaw,Weddington area) as well. You won't have any problems. If you are looking for someone to take care of your pooch while you are at work everyday, there are definitely folks who do that as well. Even the vets in this area have great facilities to keep the dogs while their parents go on vacation. If you are thinking about Ballantyne, Pineville, Matthews, Union County - or basically South Charlotte, give me a call and I'll show you around when you get here! I'm happy to mail you some info, too if you like! Thanks,

The very best one I have used is just north of Charlotte in Concord. It's called Tuscarora Country Club for Dogs. I recommend it highly.

If you are close to Huntersville or the Lake Norman area, you can also try to google K-9 Doggie Day camp. It's an indoor/outdoor facility.
