You need to 1st look-up the associated school:

http://www.schoolworksgis.com/FremontUSD/schoollocator.html

Then call the associated school to check space for your child.
If the school is impacted ask them what happens.

Many of the schools in Fremont are overloaded, and students are sent to another school that has space. Eventually when space opens up you get sent back to your associated school.

You asked, “will my kids be able have a choice on which schools to go to?”

Typically, in Fremont the answer is “NO.”

Fremont does not encourage attendance in schools other than the one designated by your property address. As stated below, due to the fact that many Fremont Schools have exceptionally high API scores, a number of the elementary schools are full and, as a result, have lotteries. If you do not make it into the school specifically designated for your address, then the school board will inform you as to which school is next on the list.

You CAN choose to send your kids to any private school you wish, and Fremont has some exceptional private schools from which to choose.

There would be HUGE problems in Fremont if parents were allowed to pick the school their children attended.

One other thing to consider: here in Fremont, property values are directly related to the local school API scores. The higher the scores, the higher the surrounding property values.

Hi Unspecified,

As Brian states, this address pulls to the schools below; however, you want to always confirm the attendance schools before you make an offer due to overload transfers [Pupil Services at (510) 659-2534].
Here's an example: http://docs.steven-anthony.com/FUSDK-6Overload+QA091012.pdf

By the way, you can check any address in Fremont, and many other Bay Area Cities, via http://www.SchoolAndHousing.com Here's the results for Jackson along with API performance and distance to each school: http://tinyurl.com/akf7wcb
