I'm sure the intention was to have started construction (or at least have it on the calendar) when everyone believed home construction would continue. Once the market made it's adjustment, home construction stopped (therefore, the potential for increased tax income stopped) and the student census didn't increase as anticipated.

The school district website doesn't offer any additional information other than a very subtle "nod" in the logo at the top of the page. As we start our climb back (and we have - we hit our bottom this summer), I'm sure there will be more talk once home construction starts up again.
