Safest area and "best" school district? Look at the objective sources for your answers...Signal Mountain will be opening a new middle/high school this fall!

Soddy-Daisy has a good reputation as does Ooltewah. Parents make the difference with any school system.

The Westview, Ooltewah Middle and Ooltewah High seem to be the most recommended. These schools are very popular right now with people thyat I work with.

Normal Park Museum Magnet is a fabulous school and has won many national awards. You can apply regardless of where you live because it is a magnet school. We love it and the community is very involved!

If you are working in Chattanooga, I recommend living in Cleveland. The schools are fantastic. My children have all gone to Stewart Elementary. EXCELLENT school. Cleveland is a small town with excellent values. GREAT place to raise a family!

Ringgold GA! Most all of the schools in the Catoosa County GA school system have won National and State Schools of Excellence awards. I would love to show you homes in our area. We are just across the line from Chattanooga. Many of our schools are new and we are still building. We have so much to offer! We have a new childrens park, the Colonnade ( ), newer library, Chickamauga-chattanooga National battlefield has walking, hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails. Check us out! If you would like to see homes in the area I would be happy to assist you.

The answer to this question is completely objective. It depends on who you ask. The Hamilton County -Chattanooga area has some really great schools with committed teachers and ample parental involvement. While we prefer to live in the East Brainerd-Ooltewah area, we have freinds in most other areas of town, such as Hixson and Red Bank, who are just as happy with the schools their children attend as well as the safety of their communities . And there are some notable private schools in the area too. As Ute mentioned, you can check out websites and test scores, but you may get a better idea by visiting several areas of the city and getting a "feel" for it all.
Of course, we'd be happy to discuss your needs and wants and to help you find just the right place to live.

You can check and compare schools in that area (just close the window that asks you for e-mail address and continue without giving your e-mail address if you don't want to provide that information). has test scores for the schools and you can do a side-by-side comparison. In my opinion, a good school is not just determined by the test score. It's a starting point. I would pick a few schools and ask to speak to the principal and someone who's active in the parents club. Read the testimonials about the school. As far as safest areas, I would check with the local sheriff's department. Real estate agents have to be careful with what they say as they could be accused of "steering" which is illegal. Good luck with your search.
