You should read the Trulia Blog: "Which areas surrounding Charlotte would be a nice place to relocate?" There are some good suggestions about schools and locations there. If you have a full time agent with a Masters degree in Planning with Finance and over two decades of experience, working for you, you will likely do better in negotiations. I'd be pleased to provide that service. ... if you appreciate this answer, please give it a "thumbs up", or if this was the most helpful answer, please say thanks with a "best answer" click .

This is a helpful source, but frankly dizzying! There are so many schools there, I don't know where to start.

Jimmy,

There are some good schools in the Charlotte area. Some good websites to visit that will give you facts about the schools and how they perform in comparison to other schools are: http://www.ncreportcard.org and http://www.greatschools.org.

ncreportcard actually rates the schools in comparison to other schools in the charlotte (or the area you are looking in) and against the state. So you can see how the schools perform.

Greatschools.org gives you a more infromal rating that is based on parents reviews of the schools. both are good and you probably will want to toggle between the two sites to get some good comarison information.

If I can be of any other assistance to you please do not hesitate to either call me or e-mail me back.

Jimmy,

Are you currently living in Charlotte, or will you be relocating? If you contact me directly with a little more insight on your situation and what your needs are, I'd be happy to help provide you some information on the systems around here. Another important question is where you may be working. If you were to be working in Uptown Charlotte, you may only want to live in Mecklenburg County, CMS School System.

Just like anywhere, there are goods and bads with every system, it's about getting in the specific school district that you personally prefer. You can use all of the sites the other agents have listed below as resources for this.

I work for buyers at no extra cost in a transaction and love to negotiate! Please don't hesitate to contact me via email, text or phone!

Hello Jimmy,

I would also check out http://www.mecked.org it is a great tool to look at the success rates of CMS schools. Charlotte also has a great private school offering. No matter what suburb you choose to live in there will be great school oportunites. Pleas let me know if I can help you in your search in any other way.

Hi Jimmy,

A lot of my clients use this site: http://www.greatschools.org/ for research on schools. They have good ratings that should help with your search.

Good luck with your search. Let me know if you need additional help.

Hi Jimmy
There are many great schools in the area. What happens sometimes though is you might find yourself in a great high school disctrict for example, but not as great middle or elementary. If you want to look at school ratings, I have a City Guide website with a page totally devoted to schools. You will find links on the right side broken down by city (all within the Metro Charlotte area, but not necessarily in the City of Charlotte). Go to this link... http://www.charlottefever.com/Schools/page_1967450.html
The Matthews area has a great reputation as well as the Weddinton area in Union County and Fort Mill in SC. There are good schools in Charlotte also, but grade level could play an important factor as to where you want to be.
Depending on how far you want to be from work could play a factor as well. I suggest you find a good Realtor (like me) to assess your situation and help determine the best strategy for you. There are also crime maps you can look at online that can give you an idea of what areas could be safer. If you want only to be in the City of Charlotte, here is a Mecklenburg County Crime mapping link you can check out....... http://maps.cmpdweb.org/cmpdnet/agreement.aspx?ref=map
Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
