Ian, it depends on which school you're talking about in Cortlandt. I attended Hendrick Hudson which was a great school - ranked top 10 in debate in the country and ranked higher than Ossining in terms of educational stats. I don't think Yorktown (Panas) is that great though. Somers is a great school.
