Irving by and large is pretty safe. We have lived in the Irving are near 183 and Storey Rd. for three years and have had no problems. Most of the neighborhoods are quiet and don't have a lot of late-night activity. Our nieghborhood has a lot of children, and they are out all the time, so the parents must think it's safe.

Hi Amy,

I would echo what the others have said.

You can check police activity on most major metro area city's website.

But just like the others have said, the most sensible approach is to take some time to be in the neighborhood yourself and talk to others you identify with who know it. Everyone has their own sense of 'safety' and no one else (especially your real estate agent) can tell you what that is.

The Internet is great for finding 'houses', but the only real way to know it's your 'home' is to see it.

Find an agent you like and trust and take some time to make the best decision for you.

Check out the City of Irving Police link. I would also suggest drive and walk the area. See if there are any residents walking around and ask questions.

1. Safety issues Google search or Police website
2. Professional code of ethics prevents any Realtor make a response.
