Hi, Yesenia!!
Thank you so much, Lisa, for answering this question!!! I believe the property in question is not in Crystal. But, it's helpful for someone like YOU to chime in because we, as agents, are prohibited from answering questions about crime rates by the limitations of our licensure.

It makes sense, because the Dept. of Commerce wants to make sure that people are not buying houses based on what an agent says is OK. It's much better for buyers/renters to do their own research to make sure they feel comfortable where they're buying/renting rather than going on what WE say is acceptable. We don't want to make that determination for you!!!

Good luck~

I have lived in Crystal for ten years and have always felt safe here. My neighborhood (Welcome Park) has a lot of younger families with children and older couples who are original to the homes. There are a few rental properties and some HUD rentals. We have great neighbors, and the only complaints we have had have been a few noise violations. There is some crime in our neighborhood, but mostly the crime is theft/burglary and not more violent crimes. We walk after dark and our children play outside by themselves. The police here patrol all the time and are very good at responding to calls promptly and being present and friendly faces in the community. For the convenience of the location, affordability, and low crime, I think this is a great place to live.

What about the Cavanaugh oaks area?

It is avery good question. But it is a comparative value. Some people will think more comfortable at one neighborhood where as others dont. You have to decide if you can afford to live in a posh suburb and pay high rent. You can call local Police station and ask them to give a "Call report for a 2 block area for last 2 years. and decide yourself. But what would you compare it with, Edina, Minneapolis or Plymouth.
Good Luck.

Your question is one that Realtors won't generally answer. We are pretty good at what we do, but we're not experts on crime. Additionally, there are some laws and ethics that keep us from directly answering your question.

I would suggest talking with the police department for that precinct. You can also request a police call report for that address. You can also check to see if there are any registered predatory offenders with a conviction by going to:

You can also speak to the neighbors and get their opinion.
