I.E. all new construction requires one and a building changing from a commercial property to a residential property needs one. It is needed to occupy the building for everday use as well as to enter into a contract to sell the property and close on a new mortgage. It also compliments a building permit - that the new construction will be compliant with all laws, codes and ordinances.
It is a great place to raise a family. The local elementary school, Sol Feinstein, is excellent and has a community feel to it. My daughter enjoyed her time there and had excellent teachers. Parents ae involved in the school and with the numerous extracurricular sports programs. Newtown Junior High and Council Rock North are excellent as well. You can check out the scholl ratings on http://www.schooldigger.com or http://www.schoolmatters.com.
