Yes. Like I said in my first post, you need to run through the check list of cost, offering, location and fit with you and your child to decide. All these schools are there for a reason, they have a following, alumni and curriculum that fits a group of students. They also are not for everyone.

It's more about what is "best" for your child. There are a few great schools that might be a good fit for your child.

I would look at:

Francis Parker
The Latin School
THe Lab School at University of Chicago

There are many others besides those mentioned here. where will you be living? How much tuition can you afford? What needs / expectations do you have for the school? What grade will your child be entering there?
All these questions, and more, have an impact on what is the best school for you and your child.

Look at Latin, British, The French School, Loyola and St Ignatius.

Good Luck!

Best in the area is Loyola Academy, but that's in Wilmette.

They run articles on this sort of thing. Chicago magazine just published this a few months back. Could be worth looking into some back issues. Also, try greaterschools.org website.
