Hello! Perhaps you'll want to begin with the Exceptional Children's Assistance Center. They have 4 offices throughout NC (all listed on their website below). Whereas I'm just a Realtor who sells houses (as my other colleagues), you may want to talk with other parents to help you advocate for your child's education. It may be here in NC or it may not. Best wishes for your family's success!

I know the school your child goes to will play an important part in your move. Here are some great websites to help you with any questions you may have regarding school statistics.
http://www.ncreportcards.org/src/ and http://www.ncpublicschools.org/

These sites allow you to search by school or by district. You can also tell whether the school or district is Honor School of Excellence, School of Excellence, School of Distinction, School of Progress, No Recognition, and Low Performing. It also gives great statistics that show how that school/district did compared to the rest of the district and the state.

Please log onto my website: ZipRealty.com to further your search. When it asks for agent's name you can put in Brenda Porter. I look forward to meeting and working with you.

Good morning,

Welcome to NC In advance. Choosing to live in NC was one of your first biggest and most important decision. Our education system is ranked in the top high when comparing with other states. Because schools are important to you; to help you decide on which area to live in NC, please consider going to the NC Board of education websites at http://www.ncpublicschools.org or/and http://www.wcpss.net; call the schools of interest and ask the specific questions you have to assist you with your next biggest and major decision. If I can be of further assistance to you and you are not working with a real estate agent, you may call 919-573-1773 or e-mail me at fallb@hpw.com at. anytime.

Thank you in advance for the opportunity. Best Wishes

A friend who moved from Florida to this area checked out several school districts because her child is autistic. She found that the Orange County schools were better than Wake County and that her child would get more attention. She ended up being very happy with them.

Have you considered private, or some private classes? The Hill Center in Durham is excellent, especially for kids with learning disabilities. It isn't cheap, I have to say.

Here is their link.

Good luck.
