Moreland is excellent, yet the high school district is not as strong as comparable value homes might enjoy. So typically I don't recommend this neighborhood if someone wants the very best value on price per home/for combo of elementary, middle and high school.
Hi Bina:
Moreland Schools is one of the better schools for k-8. Close to Moreland schools you have two schools from Campbell School Districts (Forest Hill and Marshall Lane) both excellent schools.
Best value for your Money.
Definitely one of desirable school district in San Jose. Just make sure to check the address on http://www.schvision.com/schoolfinder2/MorelandSD/ , because school boundary is little bit tricky!
Bina,
Moreland School District is pretty popular... Country Lane, Payne and Easterbrook Discovery appear to have the best scores... go http://api.cde.ca.gov. for more info, or go my website for API scores http://www.SusanWoods.net.

Moreland school district is second choice for those that can not afford Cupertino homes. Another alternative is Cambrian Park - Union district schools. You can find out more at :

Good luck,

I have had several buyers move to the west San Jose/Campbell area because of the Moreland school district. It's probably the best buy for the house you can get. As with any district, some schools test better than others. I would go to http://www.moreland.k12.ca.us/p_boundaries.html to get boundaries for the district and each individual school. I would also go to http://www.greatschools.net/schools.page?district=646&state=CA to compare schools within the Moreland district. Please note that the district closed schools and rearranged district boundaries recently due to financial reasons (not that the district is poor, just making it more efficient) and attendence issues. You also can get 2007 API tests scores at http://api.cde.ca.gov/AcntRpt2008/2007Base_Co.aspx?cYear=&am Just scroll down to Moreland school district. Country Lane elementary and Baker Elementary tend to be the preferred schools within the district. Should you have any questions, I lived two blocks from easterbrook elementary for 10 years and am quite familiar with the area and its values. Good Luck!
Bina, it's one of the best! Is there a particular school you're interested in? I have a great link on my website under SCHOOLS. It lists all the API scores for the entire Santa Clara County and I have it broken up by district. Feel free to visit. Good luck!
Moreland school are rated very well. I find buyers put extra value on homes in Moreland district since most schools are above 850API. This desirability by buyers has maintained the home values in this area in the last couple years where other areas have been hit. Schools are always a great indicator of a solid real estate investment. See below for specifics of each school in Moreland district and feel free to contact me for a custom search or CMA for specifics school boundaries.

Moreland school district is one the next choices after Cupertino. Also Cambrian Park has highly ranked schools. See http://schoolperformancemaps.com to see more information by area. I find this an easier way to find the right neighborhood school and related rank.
Good luck,
CJ
Hi Bina,
As a whole the district ranks very well. Anderson ES has been a weak link and scores have been up and down over the past few years. It’s been a struggle to have their performance come up to par with the others. This last rating period (2007) has seen a health increase, but it still lags. Overall the district is great. Students from these schools feed into Campbell Union High School District with Westmont HS roughly serving the western portion and Prospect HS serving the east.
Please visit my website http://www.dreamsbytheyard.com for a link to the API Rankings for all counties in California provided by DataQuest and the California Department of Education.
I hope this information is helpful. Please do not hesitate to call email if you have any other questions. I am well versed in this area.
Thanks,
Patrick
