Schools were of a major concern with every move I made for my family so I can appreciate your concern. Fortunately, Wake County schools while going through some recent administrative turmoil continue to be among the best in the state with well educated teachers and a diverse educational system. All 3 of my children spent the majority of their school years here and all went through middle school and high schools here. All 3 remain in the area and own their own homes, have good jobs and my oldest is working on her doctorate at NC State. I don't think you could ask for more. Ruby provided both good websites to investigate more. If there is anything I can do personally to assist you, please feel free to contact me. I invite you to visit my website at http://www.RaleighHomeSite.com with many links to the area which may help you with any other questions.

Best of luck with your relocation

A good web site to reference is http://www.ncreportcard.org where you can compare schools around the state. Please keep in mind that overall, NC public schools rank poorly on a national level, but in the triangle area you will find many schools among the best in the nation. As a yankee transplant myself, I found the Chapel Hill-Carrboro city schools to be the best. There are numerous Wake County schools that also score well, but your challenge there will be the seemingly endless redistricting that comes with the area growth. Depending on the grade level of your children and the community, lifestyle, and other aspects of life that make the Triangle so diverse, you may want to discuss yourt specific needs and preferences with an experienced and knowlegeable Broker. I will be happy to assist. Mark 919-960-6332.

Are you from the area? Wake County is in an ever changing school district right now which could be a good thing. There are many magnet schools to choose from and you can put request into schools you want your children to attend. Call me if you would like to discuss further.
