The public schools Franklin and Roosevelt are known to be great elementary schools. Homes north of Montana are zoned for those two schools. The qualified zones also extend beyond that neighborhood. You should check with Santa Monica or your agent to confirm that your new home will be in the district you want. The link for Santa Monica Unified School District is provided here.

Santa Monica schools have a reputation for being very good. Culver City School District is also excellent, as is Beverly Hills.

My children went to Franklin school when they were younger and then to Lincoln( It is the best school nation wide). Santa Monica High school used to be very good, but due to the budget shortage, it is not as good as it used to be. For high school if you have access to Beverly Hills homes, you can go to Beverly High school which is really good.
