Hi Therese,
Most parents I talk to, who have children attending public schools in Coeur D'Alene, are satisfied with the public school thier child attends. There is a different character to each school. The newer schools, Skyway and Hayden Meadows, are in areas that have experienced significant growth so class sizes can be slightly larger, but still not over crowded. Some of the older schools such as Winton (my children attended this school, and Borah have older physical plants but of the parents I talk to I know of no one who is not satisified with the level of instruction. You might try going to this web site for further guidance: http://www.psk12.com/rating/USthreeRsphp/STATE_ID_level_Elem…
It is a little difficult but just keep an eye out for Coeur D'Alene, Hayden, and Rathdrum and you will see the rankings.

All the schools are very high ranked in Kootenai County. A lot of people prefer the lakeland School District. It is ranked top 10 in the Nation.

My daughter goes to Kootenai High School and we love it.
