When bad students are disciplined or ejected to insure a good teaching environment for the well behaving ones?

Asked by Emma, Dill Pickloidy Sat Feb 28, 2009

and the administration buckles under parent objections to the discipline, failing to see the long-term value of the discipline, and further fails to back the disciplinarian teacher, then that very administration sends the message that they are unwilling to take the (harder) high road to improve the child, in lieu of the (easier) low road for the time being. This is insuring that the child's attitude of disrespect will continue on until he/she finds self in a pair of handcuffs later in life, which all started back in school when they wrongly learned from their educators that student's disrespectful actions would be tolerated if their parents objected loudly enough, and injected the race card into their arguments to scare school officials. The destruction of a respectful society is the result of our school officials' laziness and lack of fortitude when it is most needed.

We have seen this tendency before, and it only results in another parasite on society when the offending student leaves school to go out into a real world that will not tolerate his/her complete disrespect for others. It is a cycle that will no doubt continue if administrators refuse to do the right thing and discipline. It is grossly unfair to the majority of the students that are being cheated out of a better education by the very staff that parents are paying and trusting for their well-behaved child's education. This issue will be visited again. Failing to support teacher discipline now, when the offense is committed, guarantees more student disrespect, and wastes valuable time in the classroom that cannot be regained. Unwillingness to stand up to the parents of problem children is the administration's easy way out, it is the lazy way out, and it is wrong. Those parents were undoubtedly 95% of the trouble when they themselves attended school. School officials know this, know better, and should do an immediate about face with this growing fungus of a canker on our society. Avoiding doing so only endorses the disgusting behavior, and insures another generation of social invertebrates. These students and their behavior is a test of their limits in this world, and they are the bullies of this world. When school officials come to this realization and deal with it appropriately and immediately, only then will there be a change in the classroom for the better.
