What are the schools like in Prospect Park? We'll be relocating to the Philly area in a couple of months and

we have a soon-to-be five year old entering Kindergarten in the fall. Any thoughts on public elementary schools.

The Philadelphia Inquirer's "Report Card on the Schools" was recently released (11th edition). This annual report provides an in-depth look at schools in the Philadelphia region, with a focus on test scores, teacher/student ratios, spending and programs. The link to their report site is http://media.philly.com/video/report_card4.swf. You can also access the Standard & Poor's school reports from my website at http://www.HouseHuntPa.com by selecting the "School Reports" button on the left-hand side. I am associated with Century 21 Alliance in nearby Ridley, the largest agency for units sold in Delaware County for over 10 years. Feel free to contact me if I can assist you in your relocation to our area.

Please visit my websitehttp:// www.evelync21.com where you will find a "Schools" link on the left hand side of the page. This will take you to a very informative website provided by Standard & Poors with tons of information for parents regarding schools in the location of your choice. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Hi Darlene,
I have lived in Delaware County all of my life. I went to the catholic schools, my cousins went to Interboro. It was very family oriented. They have all grown, have graduated college, and have gone on to good careers. All schools have some issues, but for the most part, Delaware County has good schools. I would say there are only 3 or 4 districts to stay away from. And Interboro is not one of them. I have sold a few homes in the school district and they have been very happy with the area, the schools and my services. If I can be of any help, please contact me. Barbara 610-513-8900

Prospect Park is nice but just a mile or two further west and you're in one of the nicest areas of delaware county and in one of the best, most advanced school districts (Ridley) with higher expenditures per student than most other districts in the county. As a result of having good schools you have higher taxes but they arent THAT bad. Its a good trade off I think. Lovely Victorian homes. Not as expensive an area as people are led to believe and lots of interesting history there....

Here's a direct link to the crime rates for Philly schools. The rates are given in per 100 kids, so it's basically a straight percentage rate.

Welcome to Philadelphia "The City of Brotherly Love".
