My husband and I are moving to Nicholasville, KY soon and I am concerned about the schools. I have heard that the educational system isn't great in KY and I really want to make sure we are chosing the right school for our children.
Below is the link to the school system website. I saw the state website in a previous post it is helpful too. Nicholasville is an area I do a good deal of business in every year, so if there are any other questions feel free to contact me, my wife works in the schools almost every day in Jessamine County also.

Hi there,
You might want to check out our Nicholasville, KY school page at the link below. Parent reviews are available for most schools and should give you more of an insider's perspective.

Kentucky schools have made a lot of progress since the Kentucky Education Reform Act was passed in 1990. This act created, among other things, standardized tests which are administered throughout the state with schools ranked based on how well they perform on "CATS" tests.
As a native Kentuckian who grew up in a small town, I know that one of the benefits of school in an area like Nicholasville is a lower teacher-to-student ratio, which is nice.
Having said this, I will also tell you that Kentucky schools overall rank in the lower part of the middle third of schools in the nation. This is an improvement, though, over our ranking 10-20 years ago;.
The quality of the schools can vary widely within any city, and that is the case in Nicholasville as well. If you do a search for CATS scores for schools in Nicholasville or Jessamine County, you'll find that one of the elementary schools ranks well above average, but both public high schools rank slightly below average (compared to other schools in the state).
I'm not sure if there's a particular reason you're moving to Nicholasville, but if you have some flexibility, I might be able to suggest some counties that have schools that rank a little higher.
I hope you don't think I'm being negative -- I love my state and I consider myself fairly well educated, but I know you wanted a straightforward answer, so that's what I gave you.
