We're looking at real estate in Altoona and the surrounding area, I have relatives in Altoona but none of them have school age children. I have two kids ages 6 mths, and 6 yrs. I don't want to move to a neighborhood with a poor educational system. Any suggestions?

Between Altoona and Holidaysburg, i'd choose Hollidaysburg. There are also private religious schools--and you may want to consider the statewide cyber school.

Hi Christina,

I use GreatSchools.net as well. It is very informative and user friendly!! You can find ratings, do side-by-side comparisons and the MCAS results are readily available. Parents of students also post ratings.

Best of luck,
