What are the best school districts in the suburbs of Philadelphia? I would like a commute of about 30 to 40 mins to downtown. Thanks.

Can you realistically find a comfortable family home for $500k or less in these districts? Something like 4 beds, 2 baths.

The Philadelphia Inquirer does an annual school report card which I find to be the easiest way to analyze the relative standing of the area districts. They have a web page which is a bit tricky to work with but allows you to sort based on SAT scores and other statistics. Go to http://www.philly.com/philly/education/report_card. Three Districts that are consistently at the top of the report card are Lower Merion, Radnor and Tredyffrin/Easttown.
