As far as boundary maps go to http://www.cms.k12.nc.us/cmsdepartments/StudentPlacement/Pag
As far as best schools, most agents point to the schools in the area they serve so be careful. The two elementary schools I hear the most positive comments about are Highland Creek and Lake Wylie (geographically on opposite ends of the spectrum). All in all most of the area schools are good and you shouldn't have a problem. I'd certainly recommend visiting each school in areas of interest and speaking with their leadership - you'll learn much about the direction in which they're going.

I understand your desire to find a great elementary school for your children. Here is a link to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System boundary maps page for all of the elementary schools.

You should print out the maps of the schools you are interested in. Once you have chosen the school(s) that you would like to focus on, please call me, and I can set you up on an MLS search that will show you all of the homes for sale within that school boundary. I can also direct you to some great websites that rank school performance based on end-of-grade test results. Depending on the age of your children, you may also want to think ahead a little bit and also check out middle and high schools. I would be happy to help you get acquainted with Charlotte and all of the things our city has to offer. I have a lot of information on schools, and can share the recent school closings in Charlotte. Please call me at your convenience and we can chat about the things that are important to your family in your next home.
unfortunately there is not anything as specific as you are looking for. On the CMS site you can do school locator and punch in the address of the home you are considering and that will give you the schools for that area.
Also, you can have your realtor search by schools in the MLS. This is as accurate as the information put in. Not all agents put in the schools for their listings. however; you can get some idea of areas for certain schools.
One thign to consider is that CMS is closing ten schools next year and readjusting the boundaries to accomadate the children in differetn schools. What may be your school today could be different in a year or two or longer down the road as well.
I know it is fustrating and it seems like such an easy thing for a school to provide, especially if you're coming from one of the older established cities in the country where population growth is doesn't change much anymore. School bounderies in Charlotte, NC change quite a bit because of the incredible growth over the last 20 years. Each year the schools will draw new bounderies. They don't change all that much from year to year except when a new school is built to relieve over crowding or this year when some schools are closing for budget reasons. It sounds scary, but if you're buying now, it really is easier safer for you than it seems because you have the advantage of getting the best answer to "where do I need to be for my kids to have the best public education" after the most shaking changes due to budget cuts.
First you need to make a decision on which schools based on what is most important to you. Which schools is best can be measured in a number of ways. These might include teacher/child ratio's, Math, English, Science average grade scores, SAT scores, number of AP classes or number of students in AP classes, income demographics, racial demographics, drop out rate or number going on to 4 year colleges. Even in evaluating elementary schools it's good to look at the High School they flow into because there is a connection. Then you'll need to call each school for the latest boundaries. You'll be warned about no guaranties or told to give them a street and they'll tell you if it's in their school. But when you get the map from that school, look at home well with in that border. not on the edges. On my City of Charlotte Site, I have a link that will help you. http://www.charlottefever.com/Schools/page_1967450.html It's hard to find exactly what you are looking for (probably because they can't keep up with the changes), but there is a CMS link (locate your childs school by address) you will find on my site that you can input an address.......it shows you a map..........and then at the bottom left you will find schools as an option to click on to see what disctrict it is in.
I have a listing in Matthews Elementary disctrict which is a great school. You can check it out here.... http://www.229amircircle.view24hours.com
I hoped that helped. If there is anything else I can do to assist you, let me know.

I have a few websites on my website that I recommend for researching schools.
As far as looking up which school goes to which address... When you find an address you are interested in renting / buying you can look up that address on this site: http://maps.co.mecklenburg.nc.us/geoportal/?searchtype=Addre and it will tell you to which school zones it belongs.
