Michelle,
If you have time, take your time and drive in the morning, this will give you the best idea about the commute.
Here is a good website to search homes you can even search on the map to see the city.

Let me know if you want to see any homes in the area.

Sincerely,
Pelin

Michelle,
Keller is a good pick, but I might think it is even further than 30mins without traffic. Could be full hour drive with traffic.
What price range do you want to be in?
This might make a difference on what we suggest.
Check out leases in Bedford and Euless below.

Michelle,

I'm in agreement with Jessica; you are looking for at least a 30-40 minute commute without traffic. If you have to be in Arlington in the middle of rush hour Keller may be a little far. You may want to consider being closer to 360, 183 or 121. Grapevine, Bedford and Colleyville are all nice areas with wonderful schools.

If your commute isn't an issue than Keller is definitely the place to be! Being a resident myself I have children that attend Keller ISD. I can't say enough positive things about the teachers and faculty; it’s obvious that they care about each and every child that attends their schools.

As far as neighborhoods go, there really isn’t a bad place to live in Keller. What we need to figure out is what you are looking for in a neighborhood. Do you want a small neighborhood, where you get to know all your neighbors? Or is a master planned community with jogging trails, swimming pools and sports courts more your style?

Let me know what I can do to help!

Hi, Michelle

You could lease a home in the Park Glen area which is not too far north of Loop 820 and just west of Hwy. 377. Homes in the area were built between 1987(ish) and 2001(ish). Rents in Park Glen, for the most part, can be found in a range between $1300 and $1600.

Park Glen is actually in Fort Worth; but, in the Keller School District (at least on the north side of Basswood Blvd.). The drive from there to UTA would be about 25 minutes....provided traffic is moving on Loop 820. Often the traffic is sluggish because the loop is only 2 lanes on the north side.

If you leased in Watauga on the east side of 377, you could find lease homes between $800 and $1300. The northern area of Watauga is in the Keller School District....the southern part, Birdville ISD.

If you need further assistance, feel free to contact. My website is below.

Keller is an excellent choice! We were named one of the 7th best places to live in the nation by CNN Money magazine. The homes that are for lease and for sale are Affordable with many newer homes that have energy savings features which will save on your summer utility bills.
Keller ISD has 14 elementary schools that are rated Exemplary and situated in outstanding communities. Here is a link to the Keller ISD Performance Reports. http://www.kellerisd.net/district/reports/Pages/default.aspx
Keller ISD has two National Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence, 32 TEA Exemplary and Recognized schools as well as the 2007 Texas State Secondary Teacher of the Year and the 2008 Texas State Elementary Teacher of the Year.

What hours will you be commuting to UTA?
If your drive time is during the key rush hour traffic times, as a native of this area, I can suggest several scenic back roads that can get you there in 30 minutes. Using a local professional Realtor that is familiar with the area will make your search a lot easier and stress free. We are here to help and I would love to answer any other questions you may have about this area. Feel free to call or email me anytime!

Would be about 30-35 minutes without traffic...you would be best suited commute wise to be close to 377 or Davis (Hidden Lakes neighborhood or one of the many in North Richland HIlls in Keller schools).

As a Realtor who represents families either purchase a home OR lease a home best be interviewed to obtain:

1. Lender approval amount all sales offers are attached with mortgage broker statement
2. Mortgage amount would govern what areas for a home selection

OR if you are to lease
1. Monthly budget
2. Pets
3. Credit Scores
