Well I live in Hillsboro and I will agree that Bethany schools are great because they are newer and all the experienced teachers had first chances at transferring to them when the time came. Bethany is also very culturally diverse, which in my eyes is a plus. However to assume that all Beaverton schools are better than all Hillsboro schools would be a mistake. Rock Creek area, Jones Farm, Glencoe, Jackson school and now Orenco are all in good schools. They have just built NEW schools, new parks and Hillsboro is moving in an excellent direction. Of course all the experienced teachers will be jumping at the chance to work for these new schools and new schools add VALUE to a home!!

OK Raeleen I got this one.

Beaverton Schools are much stronger academically. I can get you a copy of the score card from the State of Oregon. The Beaverton Schools actually run into the Hillsboro Area and if you are coming to Hillsboro you will want to look at Bethany as well as Hillsboro. Many people live in Bethany North of US 26 and work in HB as it is a 5-10 minute ride to most HB jobs. This area has lower taxes, lower crime and much better housing selection overall. You better look close at the Middle Schools too as that comes along very quickly. Good HB Grade schools would be Orenco, the new Quatama school, Patterson, and Imlay. Beaverton shines at the GS level but best of the bunch is Findley and Jacob Wismer and there are two brand new schools coming in Bonney Slope and North Bethany this next year.

Be careful where you pick and look at the k-12. I was a product of the HB system and I did fine but the fact is that voters turn down budgets there as a rule. Beaverton Voters pass them as a rule and no doubt that shows in academic and other areas. These are both Strong districts but Beaverton schools are just at another level ....statewide at the very top as well.
