Top notch preschools and kindergardens in Greater Los Angeles.

Asked by Rizzla, Santa Monica, CA Wed Jun 1, 2011

We have relocated to Los Angeles from London and I am looking to find a very good preschool / kindergarden for my children. Since we are planning to move back in a couple of years I don't want my children to fall behind the british private school system and therefore I am looking for a school with a proper curriculum. The private pre-schools that we had in mind for our children back in London were just amazing. I saw three year old children solving simple arithmetics and writing complete sentences. Thanks in advance

Definitely check out St. Timothy's in Rancho Park (Pico and Beverly Glen). They offer a full day academic pre-k program. All classes are year ahead learning, so the pre-k kids are doing normal kindergarten academics. I have two kids that go there and we absolutely LOVE it! Fabulous teachers and curriculum.

This is just informational, not a recommendation one way or the other. First Presbyterian Church of Santa Monica on 2nd Street just south of Wilshire has a British pre-school. Celebrities attend there, but I don't have a personal experience. Enjoy Santa Monica for two years. It's a fantastic place to live. I've lived in Santa Monica for over 25 years.
All the best, Elizabeth
