San Mateo County Schools Boundaries

Asked by Vicki Moore, San Mateo, CA Thu Aug 2, 2007

What's the best way to determine neighborhood boundaries for individual schools?

I've looked on the web; it doesn't seem that most of the schools have maps or descriptions.

The best bet is th call the school district for information. The maps are out of date as the district makes changes from year to year. Our multiple give the phone number on the imput sheets so when you pull the listing the information is there for that phone call. Hope this helps.

Bruce, that's a very good point. But Vicki made me curious. I don't think that I have maps fro specific schools. Have you?

Call the school administration office. You give them the address and they'll give you the schools. I also always have the buyers check for themselves, just to keep you out of trouble with them. Schools can change boundries or be full sometimes, so if it is important to the buyer send them to check.

Thank you. I have the district boundary map. I'm looking for more specifics than that related to individual schools. Since I'm sure I'm not the first person to ask, I thought someone might have gotten through the red tape to reach a good solution.

Hi Vicki,
There is plenty of maps available with boundaries of school district marked (you can get them in the SAMCAR office store). Usually, they don't mark individual school boundaries as it is quite impractical (individual school boundaries do change more often than school boundaries!). The best way to find out school boundaries is to call an appropriate district. They will will give you all street name and possibly a map as well.
